What'd They Say: Cardinals Talk About Vikings

The Vikings (8-4) take on the Arizona Cardinals (10-2) at 7:25 p.m. (CT) at the University of Phoenix Stadium on Thursday Night Football. The Vikings have a 4-2 record on the road this season, and the Cardinals are (4-1) at home. Find out what the Arizona Cardinals coaches and players said this week about the Vikings when they addressed the media:

Cardinals Head Coach Bruce Arians on Vikings DE Everson Griffen:

"He's on the same level as Robert Quinn and some of the other great defensive ends out there. He looks like a young Julius Peppers in that defense. The guy is really raising havoc. I'm glad we have them here and not up there."

Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald Jr. on the Vikings secondary:

"Xavier (Rhodes) is playing really good ball right now. He's drawn some tough assignments throughout the course of the season and he's stepped up to the challenge. I liked what I saw against him when we came up there last season in the preseason. He's big, physical, he can run, he can change his hips and turn direction. Captain Munnerlyn is playing really solid inside and very physical. He's good in the run game and instinctive. On the back end Harrison Smith, he's a Pro Bowl talent. They have a lot of talented players and we know that we are going to have a fight on our hands."

Note: Smith has been ruled out of this game, a move made after Fitzgerald's comments.

Cardinals DC James Bettcher on the Vikings RB Adrian Peterson and the offense:

"Minnesota, to me, is a team with a lot of weapons on offense. We know (Adrian Peterson is special. He's running as hard as he ever has. He still has that great jump cut to spin on contact. He hits holes hard and finishes on the perimeter in the run game. There's a lot of people who have guys there to make tackles, and he's a guy who is still breaking them just as good as he did when he came in this league."

Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson on preparing for the Vikings offense:

"With those guys coming off that 'embarrassing' loss as some of the players call it against Seattle, they are probably going to have a couple of curveballs. You're right they haven't been taking many shots downfield but we do expect something different. We don't know if it's going to be shots. We don't know if it's going to be gimmicks. We don't know if it's going to be feed Adrian Peterson the ball more or what it may be. But we do know that we are going to get something different."

Cardinals DE Dwight Freeney on facing Vikings RB Adrian Peterson:

"I think he's been in the league since 2007 so we've seen each other and after every game were always like 'We'll stay in the ice tub a little bit longer.' He's a great running back, man, and it's going to take all 11 guys to tackle him. He's one of those guys who's a home run threat every time he has the ball."
