Vikings Sign Rookie WR Rodney Adams

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Vikings on Thursday announced the signing of rookie receiver Rodney Adams.

A fifth-round pick (170th overall) out of South Florida, Adams became the first member of the Vikings 11-player 2017 draft class to sign his pro contract.

Adams ranks second in South Florida history in catches (135), receiving yards (1,967) and touchdowns (16). He set a single-season school record at South Florida with 67 receptions in 2016 and tied his own school record with 822 yards as a senior. Adams' nine touchdown catches in 2015 also set a school record.

Adams also handed kickoff returns throughout his college career, totaling 1,140 yards on 46 returns (24.8 average) that was helped by a 97-yard return for a touchdown. In just three seasons with the Bulls, Adams totaled 3,497 all-purpose yards, which ranks fourth in team history.
