Vikings Sign Free Agent WR Ryan Whalen

The Minnesota Vikings have announced that the club has signed free agent WR Ryan Whalen.

Whalen joins the Vikings as a free agent entering the 2015 season. Whalen was a 6th round selection by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2011 NFL Draft out of Stanford. The Alamo, California, native spent three seasons with the Bengals before being released following the 2014 preseason. Whalen has appeared in 17 games for Cincinnati snaring 11 receptions for 80 yards in addition to six special teams tackles. The fourth year pro played in four games and the Wild Card playoff game as a rookie. Whalen played for the Bengals while Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer served as Cincinnati's defensive coordinator from 2011-13.
