Vikings Sign Free Agent LB Jason Trusnik, Place Audie Cole on IR

On Tuesday the Vikings announced that the club has signed free agent LB Jason Trusnik and placed LB Audie Cole on injured reserve.

Trusnik (TRUHS-nick) joins the Minnesota Vikings after being released by the Carolina Panthers during final roster cuts (9/5/15), the former NCAA Division III standout signed with the Panthers as a free agent on 3/31/15. Trusnik originally signed with the NY Jets as an undrafted free agent following the 2007 NFL Draft. The Ohio Northern product was traded to Cleveland on 10/07/09 and spent the remainder of the 2009 season and the 2010 campaign with the Browns. On 7/29/11 Trusnik signed with the Miami Dolphins where he spent four seasons, appearing in all 64 games, earning nine starts. Vikings Defensive Coordinator George Edwards was Trusnik's position coach with the Dolphins during the 2012-13 seasons. The Macedonia, Ohio, native has played in 109 career games with 24 starts, tallying 146 total tackles, 4 PDs, 4 FRs and 1 FF in his first eight NFL seasons.
