Mankato, MN (August 5, 2017) – The Minnesota Vikings announced DT Linval Josephhas signed a contract extension with the club.
In his career with the Vikings, Joseph has totaled 244 tackles, 89 QB hurries, 22 tackles for loss 7.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, and 3 pass break ups. In 2016, Joseph tied a career high with 3 tackles for loss vs. Green Bay (9/18/16) and registered a career-high in tackles with 15 (8 solo) vs. Indianapolis (12/18/16). He also tied for 13th in sacks (4.0) among DT in the NFL last year. Joseph was named to his first career Pro Bowl after recording 100 tackles in a season, the first Vikings DT since Henry Thomas in 1991.
The former East Carolina standout has started all 44 games since signing with the Vikings in 2014.
Joseph will be made available on the field following tonight's practice at approximately 9:30 p.m.
