Vikings Sign Bishop Sankey to Practice Squad

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Vikings on Friday announced the signing of Bishop Sankey to their practice squad.

Sankey was selected in the second round (54th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Titans out of the University of Washington.

He started 12 of the 29 games he played for Tennessee, totaling 199 rushes, 762 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. He also added 32 receptions on 45 targets for 272 yards (8.5 yards per catch) and a score through the air from 2014-15.

Sankey spent the offseason with Tennessee but was released during roster reductions.

The Patriots signed Sankey to their practice squad in September, but he was signed off New England's practice squad by Kansas City to the Chiefs active roster. He was released by the Chiefs this week.

As a junior, Sankey rushed for 143.8 yards per game (fourth-most nationally) for the Huskies in 2013. He finished his college career with 3,496 yards and 37 touchdowns on 644 attempts. He also caught 67 passes for 567 yards and a touchdown.
