Vikings Sign 3 Free Agents to Futures Contracts

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. —The Vikings on Tuesday announced the signings of three free agents to futures contracts.

Tackle Reid Fragel (Ohio State), kicker Marshall Koehn (Iowa) and punter Taylor Symmank (Texas Tech) have joined the Vikings.

Fragel has spent time with six previous NFL teams. He was originally selected by Cincinnati in the seventh round (240th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Fragel, a native of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, also spent time with Cleveland, Indianapolis, Atlanta, Tampa Bay and Kansas City.

He played four seasons at Ohio State (2009-12) and appeared in 51 games, including 21 starts (nine at tight end and 12 at tackle). Fragel switched from tight end to tackle between his junior and senior seasons, bulking up from 280 to 310 pounds.

Koehn spent time with Miami in 2016 after joining the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa in 2016. He appeared in three preseason games with Miami, going 2-for-2 on field goal attempts that included a 45-yarder.

Koehn, a native of Solon, Iowa, was 28-for-36 on field goals and 86-for-92 extra points for the Hawkeyes and nailed a 57-yard game-winner against Pittsburgh.

Symmank, who attended the Vikings rookie minicamp in 2016, averaged 46.0 yards per punt in his senior season at Texas Tech and set the Red Raiders school record for gross punting average (43.6). The native of McKinney, Texas, was All-Big 12 Honorable Mention and a Ray Guy Award candidate as a junior.
