Vikings Re-Sign Jerome Simpson

The Vikings have re-signed veteran WR Jerome Simpson, the club announced on Friday.

Simpson originally signed with the Vikings as a free agent on April 26, 2012. Simpson, a 2nd-round pick (46th overall) by Cincinnati in 2008, ranked 2nd on the Vikings with a career-best 726 yards and 48 receptions. In his two seasons with the Vikings, Simpson has started 18-of-28 games he has appeared in recording 74 catches for 1,000 yards. The 2013 season-opener at Detroit saw Simpson have his best game as Viking, hauling in 7 catches for 140 yards. Simpson finished the 2013 season with 2 games of 100-yards receiving, totaling 7 in his career. In his 57 appearances during his 6-year NFL career, Simpson has 145 receptions for 2,004 yards and 8 touchdowns.
