Vikings Promote 2 Personnel Department Employees

The Vikings on Thursday announced the promotions of two employees in the football personnel department.

Scott Kuhn has been named Director of Analytics/Pro Scout as he prepares for his 10th season with the team. He originally joined the Vikings in 2007 as a pro scout.

Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman created the Director of Analytics position after recognizing the role that advanced metrics can play as another tool to guide decisions.

Spielman said Kuhn will oversee analytics in all areas of football operations. Spielman said the amount of data available has grown substantially, and so has the importance of utilizing this information.

"Scott's aptitude to analyze the tremendous amount of data that is available to us today will be a huge benefit for all of our football operations," Spielman said. "Scott's work ethic and knowledge that he has demonstrated made this an easy decision to promote him to this new position."

Kuhn first worked with Spielman and Vikings Assistant General Manager George Paton in Miami in 2000 when Kuhn was a player personnel intern. Kuhn worked for seven seasons with the Dolphins before joining the Vikings in 2007.

The Vikings also promoted Anne Doepner from Manager of Football Administration to Director of Football Administration.

Doepner joined the Vikings as an executive assistant in football operations in 2006. She was promoted in 2009 to Manager of Football Operations and works closely with Spielman, Paton and Vikings Executive Vice President of Football Operations Rob Brzezinski to make sure all contracts are compliant with the salary cap and the Collective Bargaining Agreement that was updated in 2011.

"Anne plays an essential role in our football operations and administration," Brzezinski told Vikings.com earlier this spring. "She is well-versed in the CBA and salary cap, and we rely on her expertise on a daily basis."

Doepner represented the Vikings at the NFL's inaugural **Women’s Career Development Symposium** in March.
