Vikings-Packers Gameday Updates

6:45 PM –The Packers take a final knee and that's how the game will end.

30-13 Green Bay is the final score from the University of Minnesota.

6:24 PM – Packers K Mason Crosby makes a 52-yard field goal with 4:14 remaining in the game.

The Packers take a 30-13 lead.

5:57 PM –The Green Bay Packers have answered and they did so with authority.

After the Vikings scored a TD to get back to within one possession, the Packers drove with authority on the Vikings usually stingy defense and scored a beautiful 3rd down throw from Aaron Rodgers to James Jones.

Green Bay also converted a 2-point conversion after the TD to extend their lead to 14 points at 27-13 with 14:51 to play in the 4th quarter.

5:42 PM –The Vikings have wedged themselves back into the game.

After forcing Green Bay to punt from the end zone, the Vikings offense took the field and immediately took to the air. Three consecutive completions – to Stefon Diggs, Kyle Rudolph and then  Zach Line – got the Vikings to the 6. Adrian Peterson took it from there. An inside run where Peterson cut and dashed through the Green Bay defense resulted in a TD.

Blair Walsh hit the PAT. Green Bay's lead has been cut to 19-13 with 2:37 to play in the 3rd quarter.

5:20 PM –Green Bay keeps adding to its lead.

Fortunately, it was a FG and not a TD this time. Green Bay took the opening drive of the second half and marched 61 yards in 12 plays before stalling out. Mason Crosby came on to convert the FG try.

Green Bay leads 19-6 with 10:13 to play in the 3rd quarter.

4:51 PM –Green Bay has taken command.

Aaron Rodgers and Co. used penalties and a clutch throw by Aaron Rodgers to take a 16-6 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Penalties have been the story of the game for the Vikings to this point. The defense has been game but penalties have been too much to overcome.

4:36 PM –The Vikings defense sacked Aaron Rodgers on 3rd and long and then they blocked a punt to give the offense a drive start in Green Bay territory. But the offense couldn't get anything going.

A rush for negative yardage on 1st down followed by a sack and injury to Teddy Bridgewater on 2nd down set the offense back. Shaun Hill threw incomplete on 3rd down and the Vikings quickly gave the ball back to Green Bay via a punt.

Green Bay has the 9-6 lead and the ball at their own 20 with 2:19 to play in the 2nd quarter.

4:19 PM –A fierce border battle is developing at TCF Bank Stadium.

It's hasn't been pretty, but Green Bay is looking good early thanks to a third Mason Crosby FG, which has given the Packers a 9-6 lead with 10:17 to play in the 2nd quarter.

A missed PAT for Blair Walsh looms large right now.

4:04 PM –A bad turn of events after a long Vikings TD.

Blair Walsh missed the PAT. Green Bay returned the ensuing kickoff 69 yards. Eddie Lacy ripped off a 9-yard run. Harrison Smith left the game limping. And Green Bay kicked another FG to tie the game.

The Vikings defense did a nice job of responding after the long return and Lacy's 9-yard run. But the loss of Smith hangs over the team's head.

3:54 PM –The Vikings have answered.

After Adrian Peterson pounded the defense with three straight runs, including an 11-yarder wide around the left end after he stopped in his tracks and reversed field, Teddy Bridgewater found Kyle Rudolph for a 47 yard score.

On the play, Green Bay brought a big blitz. The Vikings picked it up beautifully, including Peterson stepping up, and Bridgewater stepped up into the pocket and lofted a perfectly-placed pass to Rudolph. After high-pointing the catch, Rudolph turned up field and outsprinted Micah Hyde to the end zone to run the Vikings to the lead.

Blair Walsh missed the PAT, so the Vikings lead stayed at 6-3.

3:45 PM –The Vikings got the ball first, but Green Bay has scored first.

The Vikings drove into Green Bay territory but couldn't convert a 3rd down and had to punt from the plus-41. Jeff Locke's punt bounded into the end zone and Green Bay took over on the 20.

Aaron Rodgers and Co. drove into Vikings territory, even converting a 4th down. But on 3rd and 10 from the 25 they weren't able to convert and K Mason Crosby came on to salvage points on the drive with a 42-yard FG.

With 4:49 to play in the 1st quarter, Green Bay leads 3-0.
