Vikings, Griffen Agree To Terms On New Contract

The Minnesota Vikings and DE Everson Griffen have agreed to terms on a new contract.

Griffen originally joined the Vikings as a 4th-round selection (100th overall) in the 2010 NFL Draft. Griffen has appeared in 59 games while recording 1 start. He has totaled 17.5 sacks in his career, including a career-high 8.0 in 2012, while playing in a part-time role. Griffen finished the 2013 season with 5.5 sacks, including 2.5 in the final 2 games of the season. The Avondale, Ariz. native sealed the Vikings 1st win in 2013 after forcing the first fumble of his career vs. Pittsburgh in the NFL International Series in London (9/29). In 2012, he scored his 1st career TD on his 1st career INT at St. Louis (12/16), taking back a Sam Bradford pass 29 yards for a TD.
