Vikings Grant Fan Wishes Submitted on Twitter

It's not quite the same as telling your holiday wish to Santa, but the Minnesota Vikings got in the spirit of giving prior to Sunday's home game.

Leading up to the Week 13 kickoff, alumni of the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders distributed cards outside TCF Bank Stadium. The cards instructed fans entering the stadium to tweet their #VikingsWish along with their seat location for a chance to have their wish granted.

During the second half of the game, Viktor the Viking and several Vikings elves roamed the stadium, delivering prizes to the surprised fans.

Fans received gifts including a Samsung Galaxy S6, a GoPro Hero 3, an Xbox One, a hoverboard and an ice auger.

One fan, Brad Olson, even won a pair of plane tickets courtesy of Delta.

FoxSports.com spoke with Olson, who is planning to use the tickets to take his daughter to a colon specialist in Columbus, Ohio.

"I just met with my pastor yesterday, praying for answers," Olson told FoxSports.com. "This was a total answer for our prayers."

It was the second year in a row that the Vikings have granted fan wishes during the holidays, but it was the first time the organization utilized Twitter to curate the fans' wish lists.

"This time of year, we love to take the opportunity to thank our fans for the passion and support they give us all year long," Erin Swartz, the Vikings Director of Brand & Creative said. "This time around, by using social media, we could surprise fans immediately, right in their seats, and take our holiday giving to the next level."

Stay tuned for the full #VikingsWish video, which will also air on Vikings Connected.
