Vikings-Eagles Rematch of NFC Title Game Generates Most Buzz on Twitter

EAGAN, Minn. — Vikings fans have voted, and they are most excited about Minnesota's rematch of this past season's NFC Championship.

The Vikings Week 5 road matchup against the Eagles earned the most votes in a Twitter poll, with 46 percent of the 7,603 total votes going toward the game.

Minnesota lost 38-7 in January's NFC title game, and the Eagles went on to win Super Bowl LII at U.S. Bank Stadium. The 2018 season will mark the third straight season, including the playoffs, that the Vikings will play in Philadelphia.

Fans whittled down the four finalists based on each four-game stretch of the season.

Minnesota's Week 13 road game against the other Super Bowl LII participant — the New England Patriots — placed second with 26 percent of the votes.

That matchup pits two of the league's top defensive minds against each other in Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer and Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick, and also features a four-time Super Bowl MVP in quarterback Tom Brady.

A Week 12 prime-time showdown against the Green Bay Packers at U.S. Bank Stadium ranked third in the poll with 25 percent.

Minnesota travels to Lambeau Field in Week 2, so this NFC North matchup will be the 117th Border Battle between the franchises.

The Vikings have won four of the past five against the division rivals, including sweeping the series in 2017. The teams have combined for 10 of the past 11 NFC North titles.

Minnesota's lone game on ESPN's Monday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14 ranked last at three percent.

Minnesota and Seattle have never met before on Monday Night Football. The Vikings are 29-32 all-time on Mondays.

The game will feature familiar faces. The Vikings added former Seahawks defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson in the offseason, and former Vikings defensive tackles Tom Johnson and Shamar Stephen are now with Seattle.
