EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings are pleased to congratulate the University of Minnesota's Simone Kolander on being named Big Ten Women's Soccer Forward of the Year.
The junior co-captain and Lakeville native is a daughter of Vikings Corporate Sales Manager Natalie Kolander.
A 2014-15 Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Kolander has 10 goals on the season, including six game-winners (fourth-most in NCAA Division-I. Click here to read a recent feature on Kolander by the Star Tribune.
The sixth-seeded Golden Gophers will visit third-seeded Rutgers at noon (CT) Sunday in a quarterfinal match of the Big Ten tournament.
