Vikings 2016 Opponents Draft Pick Roundup on Day 2

The Vikings selected with Clemson cornerback Mackensie Alexander the 54th overall pick and traded the 86th overall pick Friday on the second night of the NFL Draft.

What about non-divisional teams the Vikings are scheduled to face in 2016?

At Titans, Sept. 11

Second Round

DE/OLB Kevin Dodd, Clemson, No. 33 overall
DT Austin Johnson, Penn State, No. 43 overall
RB Derrick Henry, Alabama, No. 45 overall

Third Round

S Kevin Byard, Middle Tennessee State, No. 64 overall

The rundown: The Titans capitalized with some of the bounty they obtained by sending the No. 1 overall pick to the Rams. The extra second rounders were used to select Johnson on the line and the 2015 Heisman Trophy winner. Tennessee added an edge rusher to its 3-4 with its original pick in the second round and a player who matriculated near Nashville in the third round.

At Panthers, Sept. 25

Second Round

CB James Bradberry, Samford, No. 62 overall

Third Round

CB Daryl Worley, West Virginia, No. 77 overall
Traded 93rd overall pick to Browns

The rundown: After opting to remove the franchise tag on Josh Norman and allowing the cornerback to hit free agency, the Panthers went to work on finding replacements.

Vs. Giants, Oct. 3

Second Round

WR Sterling Shepherd, Oklahoma, No. 40 overall

Third Round

S Darian Thompson, Boise State, No. 71 overall

The rundown:The Giants drafted their second defensive back in as many days after picking Eli Apple 10th overall Thursday. Shepherd's quickness could help him in the slot. He and Thompson participated in the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Vs. Texans, Oct. 9

Second Round

C Nick Martin, Notre Dame, No. 50 overall

Third Round

WR Braxton Miller, Ohio State, No. 85 overall

The rundown: Martin is the younger brother of Dallas All-Pro tackle Zack Martin (16th overall pick in 2014). Miller made the transition from QB to WR in his senior season and is the second player at the position tabbed by the Texans in as many days (Will Fuller, 21st overall pick).

At Eagles, Oct. 23

Second Round

No selection because of a trade

Third Round

G Isaac Seumalo, Oregon State, No. 79 overall

The rundown:Philadelphia might still be flying high from drafting Carson Wentz with the second overall pick, but the old adage is that football starts up front.

At Redskins, Nov. 13

Second Round

LB Su'a Cravens, Southern Cal, No. 53 overall

Third Round

DB Kendall Fuller, Virginia Tech, No. 84 overall

The rundown:After adding Josh Doctson in the first round, Washington focused on helping a defense that ranked 28th in yards per game, 31st in rushing yards per play and 25th in passing yards per play.

Vs. Cardinals, Nov. 20

Second Round

No choice because of a trade

Third Round

DB Brandon Williams, Texas A&M, No. 92 overall

The rundown: With considerable offensive firepower returning, Arizona added to its talented secondary.

Vs. Cowboys, Dec. 1

Second Round

LB Jaylon Smith, Notre Dame, No. 34 overall

Third Round

DT Maliek Collins, Nebraska, No. 67 overall

The rundown:One of the most emotional moments of the night occurred when Smith was selected with the third pick of the night, bringing joy to a player recovering from a knee injury in the Fiesta Bowl.

At Jaguars, Dec. 11

Second Round

LB Myles Jack, UCLA, No. 36 overall

Third Round

DE Yannick Ngakoue, Maryland, No. 69 overall

The rundown:Another round of injury-related speculation ended when Jack, whom many considered to be one of the top players in the draft, was selected two picks after Smith. Jack could join 2016 first rounder Jalen Ramsey and 2015 first rounder Dante Fowler in adding young talent to the mix.

Vs. Colts, Dec. 18

Second Round

S T.J. Green, Clemson, No. 57 overall

Third Round

T Le'Raven Clark, Texas Tech, No. 82 overall

The rundown:Indianapolis continued to bolster its offensive line a day after tabbing center Ryan Kelly.
