Thielen Records 400th Reception & 40th Touchdown of Career

CINCINNATI — Adam Thielen has become the eighth player in Minnesota Vikings history to record 400 career receptions, tying Vikings Ring of Honor receiver Ahmad Rashad for seventh all-time.

Thielen entered Minnesota's 2021 season-opener at Cincinnati needing three catches to tie Rashad.

He recorded the milestone on a 20-yard pass from Kirk Cousins late in the second quarter Sunday.

The Minnesota native moved past Rashad a play later with his fourth catch of the game, but that play gained zero yards.

Thielen's first catch of the game was a nice grab on a beautiful throw by Cousins for a 12-yard gain to convert third-and-5.

His second was a 5-yard touchdown with 6:39 left in the second quarter. The touchdown catch was the 40th of Thielen's career, the sixth-most by a Vikings player.

Thielen will soon have an opportunity to tie and pass Jake Reed, whose 413 receptions rank sixth in team history.
