Teddy Named Rookie of the Week

Minnesota Vikings quarterback* *Teddy Bridgewater has been voted the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for Week 13, the NFL announced Friday.

Bridgewater was one of five players nominated for the award and was selected for a performance in which he completed 15 of 21 passes for 138 yards with two touchdowns in posting a career-best passer rating of 120.7.

Bridgewater led Minnesota to touchdowns on its opening and closing possessions of the first half against Carolina, capping the first with a 4-yard TD pass to Kyle Rudolph and orchestrating an 11-play drive that covered 80 yards in 3:12 and ended with a 17-yard score to Greg Jennings.

The victory Sunday was his second straight game with two passing touchdowns. In his past five games, Bridgewater has seven touchdowns and two interceptions, and he has recorded four wins in eight starts this season.

Bridgewater and the Vikings (5-7) host the Jets (2-10) at noon (CT) Sunday in a game televised by CBS.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fan voting for that award will occur in January, and the winner will be announced at the 4th Annual NFL Honors awards show in Arizona on the eve of Super Bowl XLIX.

This is Pepsi's 13th year as the official soft drink sponsor of the NFL and the 12th year that Pepsi will present the NFL Rookie of the Week and NFL Rookie of the Year awards.
