Hello, Minnesota Vikings Cheerleader hopefuls, it's MVC Sydney!

If you have ever thought about trying out for the team and are available to come check out the prep classes, I highly recommend them. This year, prep classes are being held at the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center, and we have two more upcoming classes available on March 22 and 29. Prep classes will begin at 6:30 p.m. and continue until 10 p.m.

You might be asking, "What happens at these preparation classes?" The classes are a combination of a dance/fitness portion covering the MVC style and a sit-down discussion full of tips and tricks on how to prepare for auditions. Each class will focus on a different style of dance, such as kick, pom, jazz, hip-hop and fitness/conditioning. Additionally, there is a different discussion topic each night that will not only cover what to expect at auditions but also cover specific details on how to prepare for them with interview tips, NFL hair and make-up tips, mock interviews and much more! Multiple current MVC will also be in attendance to answer your questions. MVC Dancer and Ambassador hopefuls will both benefit from these classes, making them feel prepared and confident for open auditions on April 7!

For my first MVC prep class, I was extremely nervous, to the point that I almost didn't show up. However, as soon as the class began, I quickly made friends with multiple women who were MVC vets, in addition to fellow first-timers. During the dance portion, we encouraged each other with feedback and compliments. There were contagious smiles everywhere, and a "care-free" and "just-for-fun" vibe in the air!

During the discussion portion, I learned more than I expected. I found out what to wear at auditions, where to take audition photos and what would happen if I made it to Finals. During the discussion, Training Program members also talked about their team and how it prepared them for next year's auditions. All of my questions were answered, even one to MVC Captain Lauryn about what kind of product she used in her curly hair, and she took the time to tell me her NFL hair routine. Without that prep class, who knows how I would have shown up to auditions!

As I left that night, I realized how excited I was for the next prep class and how silly it was to be nervous. We were just a bunch of women, chasing the same dream. I benefitted tremendously from the rest of the prep classes and ended up making it all the way to finals that year. I unfortunately didn't end up making the team that year, but I was given the amazing opportunity to be a part of the MVC Training Program. After a year of Training Program, my dreams came true, and I became a Minnesota Vikings Cheerleader.

This year I will be attending all the prep classes and hope to meet all the new hopefuls. Please feel free to come say "Hi" or ask me any questions you might have. If you are aspiring to make your dreams come true of becoming an MVC, attend the Preparation Classes – you'll be glad you did.
