Stefon Diggs nominated again for Pepsi rookie award

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Stefon Diggs' 40-yard game-tying touchdown Sunday in Chicago has earned him a second nomination for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week this season.

Diggs claimed the Week 6 award via fan votes after posting seven catches for 129 yards in his first career start. This past week, he finished with six receptions for 95 yards, including the critical and **dynamic catch-and-run** that shifted momentum in the Vikings favor for Minnesota's first win in Chicago since 2007.

At least one Vikings player has been nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for a third straight week. Diggs was joined as a nominee by linebacker Eric Kendricks in Week 6 when he tied a Vikings rookie record with 13 tackles (11 solo), joining Harrison Smith (2012) and Malik Boyd (1994) for stops by a rookie in one game. Kendricks garnered another nomination in Week 7 when he had 2.0 sacks in Detroit.

In addition to Diggs, Tampa Bay LB Kwon Alexander, St. Louis RB Todd Gurley, Houston CB Kevin Johnson and Green Bay DB Damarious Randall are on the ballot for Week 8.

Fans can vote for one of these five players at **nfl.com/rookies** through Friday at 2 p.m. (CT). The winner* *will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/rookies throughout the month of January. The Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year will be announced at the "5th Annual NFL Honors" awards show in San Francisco on CBS on Saturday, Feb. 6, the night before Super Bowl 50.

Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater won Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year after the 2014 season.

This is Pepsi's 14th year as the official soft drink sponsor of the NFL and the 13th year that Pepsi will present the NFL Rookie of the Week and NFL Rookie of the Year awards.
