Stefon Diggs, Eric Kendricks up for Pepsi rookie award

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. —The Vikings have not one but two rookies up for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for their performances in Sunday's win against the Chiefs.

Stefon Diggs led the Vikings with seven catches for 129 yards (18.4 per reception), converted three third downs and had three catches that gained 20 or more yards in his first career start.

Eric Kendricks started for the second week in a row and recorded 13 tackles (11 solo) by coaches' tally, one sack, a quarterback hurry and two passes defended. The 13 tackles tied Harrison Smith (2012) and Malik Boyd (1994) for the most by a Vikings rookie in one game.

In addition to Diggs and Kendricks, the other nominees for Week 6 are: New Orleans LB Hau'oli Kikaha, Kansas City CB Marcus Peters and Green Bay CB Damarious Randall. 

Fans can vote for one of these five players at **nfl.com/rookies** through Friday at 2 p.m. The winner* *will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/rookies throughout the month of January. The Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year will be announced at the "5th Annual NFL Honors" awards show in San Francisco on CBS on Saturday, Feb. 6, the night before Super Bowl 50.

Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater won Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year after the 2014 season.

This is Pepsi's 14th year as the official soft drink sponsor of the NFL and the 13th year that Pepsi will present the NFL Rookie of the Week and NFL Rookie of the Year awards.
