EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Monday announced the signing of former Iowa Hawkeyes tight end Shaun Beyer.

Beyer joined the Denver Broncos in 2021 as an undrafted free agent, but he did not make the team's 53-man roster. Denver signed him to its practice squad, but he did not appear in a game last season.

He was released by the Broncos in May and was a free agent until inking with Minnesota on the same day that Vikings rookies and quarterbacks reported for 2022 Vikings Training Camp.

Veterans are scheduled to report Tuesday, and the whole team is slated to practice together Wednesday. The first practice open to fans will be Saturday, July 30.

Beyer appeared in 35 games for the Hawkeyes, totaling 18 receptions for 275 yards (15.3 yards per reception) and one touchdown. His biggest season as a pass catcher occurred as a senior when he recorded 11 receptions for 158 yards, including a 16-yard touchdown against Illinois.
