Vikings Waive Sam Schlueter Due to Non-Football Illness

EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Wednesday announced they waived offensive tackle Sam Schlueter due to a non-football illness.

Schlueter, a native of Victoria, Minnesota, played college football for the Gophers from 2017-21 after redshirting in 2016. He started 46 games for the University of Minnesota, including all 33 possible over the course of his final three seasons.

Schlueter spent the 2022 offseason with San Francisco and part of last season on the New York Jets practice squad. He signed with the Vikings in May.
