Profile

Summary:Evans was one of the top recruits as a linebacker coming out of high school. He played outside linebacker for the first two years of his college career before moving inside for the final two seasons. Evans is known for his athleticism and frame, and was a semifinalist for the Butkus Award, which is given to college football's top linebacker and claimed by Eric Kendricks in 2014.

**Lance Zierlein of NFL.com** wrote Evans is built "like new breed of NFL linebackers," citing Evans' "agility, range and explosiveness." Among other attributes, Zierlein said a "work while you wait" mindset helped him excel in three consecutive national championship game appearances.

Stacking up: ESPN draft expect Mel Kiper, Jr., listed Evans as the second-best inside linebacker in the draft, while NFL Media analyst Mike Mayock has Evans as the No. 4 linebacker.

Coming up clutch: Although Evans played sparingly on defense as a sophomore in 2015, he recorded a pair of sacks against Clemson to help Alabama win the College Football Playoff National Championship.
