EAGAN, Minn. – The Vikings have placed Marcus Davenport on Injured Reserve.

Minnesota announced the move Wednesday morning. Davenport had previously dealt with an ankle injury before playing the past four games, starting three, for the Vikings. He left Sunday's game at Chicago with an injury to his other ankle.

In conjunction with adding Davenport to IR, the Vikings activated running back Kene Nwangwu to the 53-man roster.

Nwangwu had been on IR with a back injury and on Oct. 11 was designated to return to practice.

He played all 17 games for the Vikings last season, contributing mainly on special teams as Minnesota's kick returner. He had 35 returns for 920 yards and ran one back for a touchdown against the Patriots. In Nwangwu's absence, Ty Chandler has served as the Vikings kick returner.

Finally, the Vikings also designated Jalen Nailor to return to practice Wednesday.

Nailor landed on IR Sept. 21 with a hamstring injury.
