EAGAN, Minn. — Twice is nice for Myles Price and the Vikes.
The NFL on Wednesday announced Price was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 3 after his dazzling day at Tampa Bay.
Price ripped off an 86-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first quarter, giving Minnesota a 10-point lead in an eventual 23-16 victory.
It was the first punt return TD by Price and by anyone in the 2026 season, plus Minnesota's first in a 162-game span that dated back to Oct. 9, 2016, when Marcus Sherels returned a punt 79 yards for a score in the third game ever at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Price's selection followed teammate Isaiah Rodgers winning the same award for Week 2 after he blocked a potential game-tying field goal at Chicago in Minnesota's 9-3 win.
The 86-yard return tied Sherels (Week 7 of 2013) for the third longest in franchise history and set Price up for a franchise single-game record for total return yards (238), which included 132 kickoff return yards and a career-high 106 punt return yards. It was the highest total in the NFL since Nyheim Hines totaled 241 in Week 18 of the 2023 season.
Through three games, Price leads the league in punt return yards (130), punt return touchdowns (one), yards per punt return (21.7), kickoff return yards (353) and all-purpose yards (483). Since entering the league in 2025, Price ranks second in kickoff return yards (1,832) and third in punt return yards (440).
Price is the 11th non-specialist and seventh offensive player in team history to be tabbed NFC Special Teams Player of the Week, joining RB Moe Williams (1999), WR Aundrae Allison (2007), WR Percy Harvin (2009, 2010), WR Cordarrelle Patterson (2013), WR Adam Thielen (2014), CB Marcus Sherels (2015), RB Mike Boone (2020), RB Kene Ngwangwu (2021, 2022), DL Levi Drake Rodriguez (2025) and CB Isaiah Rodgers (2026).
This award is the 20th NFC Player of the Week selection under Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell in 71 regular-season games, and the seventh NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honor under Special Teams Coordinator Matt Daniels.
