MVC: Pushing it to the Max

On Tuesday October 21st the MVC completed their last "Power Team" testing of the season at Winter Park. As an MVC, we take pride in our fitness. Each fitness test that is completed during Power Team is a symbol and testimony of how hard us cheerleaders work, how strong we are, and how hard we push ourselves.

Power team consists of fitness tests including; a 5k run, pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups, planks, wall sits, killers, splits and even bear crawls! To make the Power Team each MVC has to complete a certain number of reps or finish under a designated time limit. MVC are always looking to improve, in order to make Power Team again you must improve yourself in at least one area. Doesn't that sound Challenging?! This time around we had 22 girls make the Power Team! SKOL!

We are required to run a 5k in under 30 minutes, 3 pull-ups, 30 push-ups in 50 seconds, 40 sit-ups in 60 seconds, 100 yard dash in under 16 seconds, 50 yard bear crawls in 30 seconds, 2 minute elbow plank, 2 minute wall sit, 120 yards of killers in 25 seconds, and 2 ways of splits. All these tests are conducted back to back, no breaks. Some MVC exceed these requirements and run the 5k in 21 minutes, or do 11 pull-ups! One of our vets has made power team 19 times! What a powerful team we have (:

Special thanks to our sponsor Lifetime Fitness for keeping us in our best shape all year! Congratulations to the girls induced onto power team! GO VIKES!
