MVC Kali's Training Camp Recap

This year marked the 52nd and final season of Training Camp in Mankato. We could not have had more fun kicking off the new season, celebrating the years in Mankato and welcoming everyone to our new home next year at TCO Performance Center!

The two weeks were filled with fun events, meeting our wonderful fans and, of course, football! The MVC kicked off training camp with Vikings Women and MATTER to box meals. Our goal was to pack 1,000 snack bags for kids in after-school programs, but with the help of our fans, we exceeded our goal and packed 1,500 snack bags. The snack bags were recently distributed at kids' camps for the Sanneh Foundation and InSports Foundation. Thank you everyone who stopped by the station on their way into training camp and packed a bag. We ended our day by celebrating Vikings Women with an exclusive VIP viewing event. It was so fun and inspirational to come together as women and share in our love for football and the Vikings. Activities included lunch, manicures and raffles for Vikings memorabilia and prizes; we even got to watch a portion of practice from the field. My favorite part of the event was getting to meet so many of our female fans on a personal level and hear all the stories they have of previous games, predictions for this year and why they love the Vikings. This event was one I am glad I didn't miss!

We ended Training Camp this year with our annual Junior Cheer Clinic, and what an amazing turnout we had. Approximately 100 girls between the ages of 3 and 14 came out to dance with us this year, and we even had a few young boys participate as junior flag runners. It was an hour packed event where the young people got to learn a few things that the MVC do on a game do. We taught them everything from cheering loud on defense, common tricks like a kick line and star jumps, and they even got to learn a fun routine that we performed for parents at the end of the clinic. The youth had so much energy and love for the Vikings, and it was an honor to spend the day with them.

This year's Vikings Training Camp was one for the books. As we close the chapter with Mankato, we could not be more thankful for the partnership year after year and all the wonderful fans that came out to support the team. We hope to see you all next year in our new home at TCO Performance Center!

SKOL Vikes!
