EAGAN, Minn. — Friday's Injury Report — The Vikings have released the designations for Sunday's Week 7 game against the Lions in Detroit.
Linebacker Ben Gedeon (concussion) has been ruled out, and linebacker Kentrell Brothers (hamstring) is listed as questionable for the noon (CT) kickoff.
Gedeon and was a limited participant on Friday, his first action since suffering a concussion at New York in Week 5. Brothers was limited all week.
The status of the other Vikings who appeared on the injury report this week — tackle Riley Reiff (ankle), guard Josh Kline (foot), cornerback Xavier Rhodes (hip), linebacker Eric Kendricks (hip), safety Anthony Harris (quadriceps) and defensive tackle Shamar Stephen (knee) — did not receive designations.
The Vikings also announced Friday that fourth-year tight end David Morgan (Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform) will undergo season-ending surgery.
The Lions on Friday ruled out defensive tackle Mike Daniels (foot) and cornerback Amani Oruwariye (knee). Detroit listed the following players as questionable: fullback Nick Bawden (back), defensive back Quandre Diggs (hamstring), defensive lineman Da'Shawn Hand (elbow), cornerback Darius Slay (hamstring) and tackle Rick Wagner (knee) as questionable.
Thursday's Injury Report - Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer said he expects Reiff to be available on Sunday when he addressed the media after practice. Reiff (ankle) returned to practice as a limited participant on Thursday after not practicing on Wednesday.
Linebacker Ben Gedeon (concussion) did not participate in practice on Thursday.
Linebacker Kentrell Brothers (hamstring) and guard Josh Kline (foot) were again limited participants in practice on Thursday.
Safety Anthony Harris (quad), linebacker Eric Kendricks (hip), cornerback Xavier Rhodes (hip) and defensive tackle Shamar Stephen (knee) were all again full participants in practice on Thursday.
For the Lions, DT Mike Daniels (foot) and CB Amani Oruwariye (knee) did not practice. DB Quandre Diggs (hamstring), DL Da'Shawn Hand (elbow), CB Darius Slay (hamstring) and T Rick Wagner (knee) were limited.
DT A'Shawn Robinson (knee), QB Matthew Stafford (hip) and TE Logan Thomas (shoulder) fully participated.
Wednesday's Injury Report - Linebacker Ben Gedeon (concussion) and tackle Riley Reiff (ankle) were the only two Vikings who did not participate in practice on Wednesday.
