Mike Zimmer Announces Case Keenum Will Start Against Rams

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. —Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer announced on Wednesday that Case Keenum will start Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.

Keenum has started seven of Minnesota's nine games this season and is coming off a 21-for-29, 304-yard day at Washington on which he threw a career-best four touchdown passes. He was named a **finalist for the FedEx Air Player of the Week**.

The offseason signee improved to 5-2 as a starter in Purple and helped Minnesota win its fifth consecutive game, in spite of throwing interceptions on two consecutive attempts. He has completed 170 of 262 passes for 1,914 yards with 11 touchdowns and five interceptions for a career-high passer rating of 92.6 with Minnesota.

Keenum started 14 games for the Rams from 2015-16, playing home games in St. Louis and Los Angeles.

Teddy Bridgewater, who dressed for the first time in 2017 on Sunday will back up Keenum again this week. Bridgewater last played in a non-exhibition game on Jan. 10, 2016. He was active for the first time last week and became **emotional on the sidelines** before the game.

The 2014 first-round draft pick went 17-11 in 28 regular-season starts, completing 551 of 849 passes for 6,150 yards with 28 touchdowns and 21 interceptions from 2014-15. He missed all of his third pro season because of a dislocated knee, an injury he suffered in a non-contact drill at practice on Aug. 30, 2016.
