Now coaching alongside their fathers, Scott Turner and Adam Zimmer recently spoke with Chris Tomasson from the St. Paul Pioneer Press spoke about their road to build their reputation and earn their own stripes.
The two recalled stories from their childhood at training camps spending time with players like Deion Sanders and Brian Mitchell:
*They were running around NFL training camps as kids, and perhaps sometimes having too much fun. *
*Adam Zimmer once incurred the wrath of his father when he got a Dallas Cowboys golf cart stuck on a sand volleyball court. Scott Turner used to celebrate his birthdays at Washington Redskins camps and then would get taped to a bench or stuck in an ice bucket by prank-loving players. *
*Now, Zimmer, 30, and Turner, 32, are all grown up. They are assistants for the Vikings and sons of the two most important coaches on the team. *

Wide receiver Adam Thielen seems to be in the thick of Vikings' plans
Adam Thielen has quickly become a fan favorite during the team's three week stay in Mankato. Thielen's style and work ethic combined with the fact that he hails from Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, has skyrocketed his status among Vikings fans.
Star Tribunes Megan Ryan talked with Thielen about the possibility of earning a roster spot, as well as speaking with his fiancé about her point of view throughout this process:
The day before the Vikings' first preseason game, Adam Thielen was in the thick of planning his wedding.
And while taste-testing the reception food is one of the best aspects of impending nuptials, the wide receiver was too focused on making the cut to cut the cake.
"He wouldn't try any of the cakes because he had a game," his fiancée, Caitlin Graboski, said of their planning for next May's wedding. "And I was over there eating, like, everything."
Adam's focus wasn't just because of Friday's game. The Detroit Lakes native and former Minnesota State Mankato standout was on the Vikings' practice squad last year and is now in line to grab one of the last receiving spots as well as a special teams place on the final roster.
Thielen, after an impressive camp and first preseason game, seems to be on pace to find a home on the 53-man roster, but as we all know, a lot can change between now and final cuts.
