EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Wednesday added depth to their defensive line by claiming defensive end Jonah Williams off waivers.

Williams, who first entered the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2020, played in his first eight NFL games this season.

The 26-year-old played 96 snaps on defense in a rotational role and 41 on special teams. He recorded five tackles.

Williams (6-foot-5, 275 pounds) played collegiately at Weber State after attending Rocky Mountain High School in Meridian, Idaho. He finished his college career by earning All-America honors and was named the Big Sky Defensive MVP and the 2019-20 Weber State Male Athlete of the Year.

In 54 career games, Williams recorded 15 sacks, the ninth-most in school history, and 28 tackles for loss.
