Greenway's 10th Gridiron Gallop Around the Corner

Father's Day is approaching quickly, which means so is the 10th annual Gridiron Gallop hosted by Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway and his wife, Jenni.

An event that began in Greenway's second professional season has become a multigenerational tradition, offering participants a chance do something healthy with or in memory of dads.

Greenway, a father of three girls, was able to enjoy previous Gridiron Gallops when his father, Alan, could make the trip from Mount Vernon, South Dakota. He also held last year's event in memory of his hero.

Alan passed away after a prolonged battle with leukemia in December 2014. Greenway continued with his commitment to personally distribute gifts to a Twin Cities family in need the next day and played against the Dolphins the day after.

Jenni Greenway won the women's division last year while pushing a stroller occupied by the couple's youngest daughter.

Once again, the Gridiron Gallop will feature a 5K Run/Walk and a Kids Fun Run that start and end near the Lake Nokomis Main Beach.

Proceeds will again benefit Minneapolis Parks & Rec.

Online preregistration ($30 for the 5K/$10 for the Kids Fun Run) is available until 9 a.m. (CT) on June 16. Race-day registration ($35 for the 5K and $15 for the Fun Run) is another option. All preregistered participants will receive a T-shirt.
