Four Defensive Starters Ruled Out

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. – The Minnesota Vikings travel to Arizona to battle the Cardinals in a Thursday night affair without some of their defensive star power as S Harrison Smith (hamstring), LB Anthony Barr (groin/hand) and DT Linval Joseph (foot) are all ruled out.

LB Brandon Watts (rib) did not participate in any of the three practices this week and will not play in Thursday's game. Despite practicing on a limited basis on Tuesday and Wednesday, S Andrew Sendejo (knee) has also been ruled out as the Vikings head to Arizona.

DE Scott Crichton (ankle) was a limited in practice on Monday and Tuesday before participating fully in Wednesday's practice; he is probable to play against the Cardinals.

A player listed as questionable has a 50 percent chance of playing on Thursday, while a probable listing gives means that player is a virtual certainty to play this weekend.

The Cardinals also enter Thursday's contest with a laundry list of injuries. 13 players are listed on the team's injury report on this short week, and three have been ruled out against the Vikings.

G/T Earl Watford (hand) was placed on injured reserve yesterday, ending his season.

RB Andre Ellington (toe), CB Jerraud Powers (calf) and DT Frostee Rucker (ankle) will not suit up when the Vikings come to town and TE Jermaine Gresham (knee) is doubtful.

S Tony Jefferson (hamstring) and DT Cory Redding (ankle) are both questionable for Thursday's game.

There are six Cardinals that are probable to play Thursday, highlighted by the WR duo of Larry Fitzgerald (ankle) and Michael Floyd (hamstring); both were able to fully participate in Wednesday's practice.
