Elflein, McDermott, Stephen and Brock Out on Sunday Against Bears

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. —Vikings long snapper Kevin McDermott (shoulder), nose tackle Shamar Stephen (ankle), cornerback Tramaine Brock, Sr., (foot) and center Pat Elflein (shoulder) have been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bears.

Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer announced the Elflein is out for Sunday at his press conference on Friday.

Zimmer did not disclose what the starting offensive line will look like on Sunday. The group is already missing left guard Nick Easton, who also backed up Elflein at center this season. Easton was placed on injured reserve this week.

Of the four, Brock was the only player who was listed as a limited participant in practice on Friday. He, McDermott, Stephen and Elflein did not participate Wednesday or Thursday.

The Vikings could clinch a bye in the first round of the playoffs with a victory against Chicago at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday, which would give all four players another full week to get healthy for the playoffs.

Tight end Kyle Rudolph (ankle) was a limited participant in practice this week and is likely to play.

Cornerback Terence Newman (not injury related) was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, and returned to practice for the rest of the week as a full participant.

Running back Jerick McKinnon (shoulder), and tackle Mike Remmers were full participants in practice all week and are likely to play.

The Chicago Bears have released the club's Friday injury report.**

Tackle Bobby Massie (knee) and guard Josh Sitton (ankle) both did not participate in practice this week.

Both were ruled as doubtful for Sunday's game.

Safety DeAndre Houston-Carson (back) was first listed on the injury report on Thursday and was listed as a limited participant for both Thursday and Friday's practices this week. Houston-Carson is listed as questionable.

Tight end Adam Shaheen (chest) was a limited participant in practice all week and is listed as questionable.

Tackle Bradley Sowell (back) was limited in practice on Wednesday and returned to practice as a full participant for the rest of the week. Tackle Tom Compton (concussion) was a full partipant in practice this week. The two tackles are expected to play.
