Vikings Place Donovan Jackson on Injured Reserve During Roster Moves

2024 DIGI - Roster Move_2560x1440-1

EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Tuesday officially placed guard Donovan Jackson on Injured Reserve amid making multiple roster moves.

Jackson suffered a torn meniscus in Minnesota's Week 4 game against the Miami Dolphins, cutting short his promising second NFL season.

The Vikings also announced they have released three players from their practice squad: punter Johnny Hekker, running back Devin Neal and cornerback Natrone Brooks.

Hekker has spent time on the practice squad and 53-man roster since Week 2, filling in the past two games for rookie Brett Thorson, who suffered a right hamstring injury in Minnesota's win at Chicago.

Neal and Brooks were more recent additions.

Minnesota signed tackle Tristan Leigh to its practice squad. Leigh initially joined the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson and appeared in Minnesota's preseason contests.

Minnesota additionally waived cornerback Tyreek Chappell from Injured Reserve.
