EAGAN, Minn. — Vikings outside linebacker Danielle Hunter was named NFC Defensive Player of the Month, and receiver Jordan Addison was selected as the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for October, the NFL announced Thursday.
Hunter and Addison helped the Vikings go 4-1 in October with repeated impressive performances.
Hunter started all five games and recorded 18 tackles (15 solo), five tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks and two forced fumbles. He has had at least 1.0 sack in each of the past four games and in an NFL-best seven games so far in 2023.
The ninth-year pro leads the NFL with 10 sacks and 12 tackles for loss at the midpoint of the 2023 season. The Vikings limited opponents to 16 points per game during the month.
Addison has dazzled multiple times during his debut season. He posted at least six catches and 60 yards during three of the team's five October games and became the third Vikings rookie to post 100 receiving yards during his Monday Night Football debut, joining Hall of Famer Randy Moss and superstar Justin Jefferson.
The 2023 first-round pick totaled 123 yards, including touchdowns of 20 and 60 yards, against the Niners.
He finished the month with 23 receptions for 297 yards and five scores over the five games in October.
