EAGAN, Minn. — Hammer Time is continuing in Minnesota.

Fullback C.J. Ham signed a two-year contract extension, the team announced Friday after he passed his physical.

The previous contract for the 2022 season-long special teams captain was entering its final season.

Ham has played in every game in each of the past two seasons and no fewer than 15 in any season since 2017.

He's totaled 70 receptions for 610 yards and two scores, as well as 97 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 36 rushes in 96 regular-season games (33 starts).

Ham's 169 snaps on offense in 2022 were down from 376 in 2021, a career-high 404 in 2020 and 354 in 2019 when he made the Pro Bowl, but his 324 special teams snaps were the most he's logged in a season.

Although Ham was not implemented as frequently by Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell and Offensive Coordinator Wes Phillips in 2022, both seemed to enjoy having a fullback as an option in their system.

Ham's two rushing touchdowns in 2022 were the second and third of his career and first since 2017.
