Vikings Awarded 6th-Round Pick in NFL's Compensatory Formula

EAGAN, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings picked up one extra selection in the 2023 NFL Draft on Thursday when the league announced compensatory picks.

Minnesota added a sixth-round selection (211th overall), increasing the Vikings total to five selections.

Compensatory picks are awarded to teams through a formula that evaluates net gains and losses in the previous year's free agency.

The Vikings also learned the selection numbers they will have in the fourth and fifth rounds on Thursday.

Minnesota is now slotted to enter the draft with the following selections:

First Round, 23rd overall

Third Round, 87th overall

Fourth Round, 119th overall

Fifth Round, 158th overall

Sixth Round, 211th overall

Compensatory picks can be traded.

The 2023 NFL Draft will be hosted by Kansas City, Missouri, on April 27-29.
