7 WR's Remain in NFL.com's Top 101 Free Agents

Who has gone where and who is left?

There were more than 450 players across the NFL that became free agents Tuesday afternoon when the new league year began.

The frenzy or flurry was trumped by heavy trading activity with multiple household names being swapped. There were also some big money deals that have been doled out from coast to coast.

In the days leading up to the market opening, NFL.com compiled a list of the top 101 free agents. The list was ever-evolving as cuts, re-signings and even retirements by quarterback Jake Locker and linebacker Jason Worilds impacted who is available.

As of 4 p.m. (CT) Friday, however, there were 40 players listed that were still on the market.

Wide receivers accounted for seven of the 19 offensive players, followed by five offensive linemen, four running backs, two tight ends and QB Michael Vick. The seven wide receivers include four players who were first-round draft picks.

Michael Crabtree was the highest-ranked receiver still available, followed by Dwayne Bowe, Cecil Shorts, Kenny Britt, Hakeem Nicks, Steve Johnson and Denarius Moore.

Crabtree has 347 career catches for 4,327 yards and 26 touchdowns and has had 625 or more receiving yards in five of six pro seasons. Bowe has 532 receptions for 7,155 yards and 44 TDs. He led the league with 15 touchdowns in 2010, but like all other Chiefs receivers in 2014, did not had a TD catch last season.

Shorts has 176 catches for 2,343 yards and 12 touchdowns in three years as a starter, and Britt has posted 205 catches for 3,198 yards and 22 touchdowns. Nicks has 349 receptions for 5,027 yards and 31 career scores, Johnson has 336 catches for 4,267 yards and 31 TDs and Moore has 142 catches for 22,169 yards and 17 touchdowns but went without a scoring catch in 2014 when he made two starts and missed six games.

Classifying Dwight Freeney as a defensive end (where he's done most of his damage to offenses) instead of outside linebacker, there are 10 linemen, four linebackers and seven defensive backs among the 40 players remaining in the list.

The highest ranked available is Greg Hardy, who is able to sign with a team, but his status for 2015 has not been concluded. B.J. Raji and Randy Starks are the next highest-ranked.
