PRIOR LAKE, Minn. — Some swings were better than others, but the mingling was unparalleled at the 2026 Minnesota Vikings Foundation's Golf Tournament.
Such is the case when Pro Football Hall of Famers John Randle and Randall McDaniel hit the links — and fellow Gold Jacket Paul Krause is among Vikings Legends on the welcoming committee with Ring of Honor linebacker Scott Studwell and recent additions to the alumni group Adam Thielen and C.J. Ham.
"It's kind of weird to be here as a Vikings Legend, but it's so cool to see all the guys taking that [group] picture, guys I played with, guys I watched growing up that made me want to play football and guys I respect so much," Thielen told golfers before the round began. "Thank you all for coming. This is something that's really special for us, especially me, being from Minnesota and supporting Minnesota."
The annual event, presented by Molson Coors earlier this month at The Meadows at Mystic Lake, raised more than $300,000 for the Minnesota Vikings Foundation's programs that include the Vikings Table food truck, which launched June 13, 2019, and has served up more than 150,000 meals.

The foundation also is continuing a Vikings Voyage school field trip program in connection with the Science Museum of Minnesota to provide STEM education tours at U.S. Bank Stadium.
"Today is not about the Vikings. It's about our community, our relationships and supporting the Minnesota Vikings Foundation," Vikings Chief Operating Officer Andrew Miller said. "This is the biggest fundraiser we have, and we use that money to provide programming in our community. You see that here with Vikings Table.
Miller said the Vikings Voyage experience has impacted more than 7,500 students over the past couple of years. The team provides bus service and food.
While the day's focus remained on philanthropic efforts, golfers were dialed in for the pins.
The top three teams all finished with 14-under par scores of 58, prompting the use of a tiebreaker based on teams' results on their final four holes played.
By closing with four consecutive birdies, the team of Cody Ahmann, James Boucher, Maria Wintheiser-Lloyd, Becky Piechowski and former Gophers, Twins and Braves catcher Greg Olson claimed first place.
Reid Weber, Nick Dahlheimer, Ben Wrazidlo, Travis Johnson and former Gophers and NHL center (including with the Wild) Jeff Taffe finished second. Wrazidlo also won the prize for men's longest drive.
The team of Colton Crooks, Destin Crooks, Jamie Crooks, Austin Hoops and Michael Floyd finished third.
Vikings Legend Leo Lewis won the prize for men's closest to the pin.
After completing the tournament, participants heard from former Pro Bowl safety Robert Griffith, a two-time Second-Team All-Pro, as well as Vikings Head Coach Kevin O'Connell.
"One of the things that's so great about the Vikings is our Legends are unassuming," Griffith said. "We've got Randall McDaniel here, and I get goosebumps thinking about it, but this guy is the best in the NFL, in 105 years, to play his position."
O'Connell provided an update on the 2026 version of Vikings as the team was going through its voluntary offseason workout program and on the eve of introducing new General Manager Nolan Teasley.
O'Connell called Teasley, who was in flight to the Twin Cities during the coach's talk with golfers, "a spectacular guy with an evaluating background and team-building background."
"I'm excited for the short-term and long-term vision Nolan has for our team," O'Connell said, later adding, "Nolan believes wholeheartedly in building through the trenches, which has made some of the greatest Minnesota Vikings teams from many years ago. Many of the best teams we've had have been strong on the offensive and defensive line."
