2018 Combine Workout Warriors: Edge Rushers

The on-field workouts featured a fresh twist on Sunday when several athletes were grouped into a new positional group, "edge rushers," for the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine.

Sometimes unofficially referred to as "hybrids" in the past, the category is a method of differentiating players on the verge of being defensive ends in a 4-3 or outside linebackers in a 3-4, a defensive front that has increased in prevalence in the NFL.

The Vikings still utilize a 4-3, but they also have enjoyed pass-rush abilities of linebackers Anthony Barr and blitzed with Eric Kendricks under the direction of Mike Zimmer.

Here were the top performers for edge rushers at the combine (because this is the first year for the positional category, all of the top marks were classified as records by NFL.com):
