EAGAN, Minn. — The Viking responsible for nabbing Minnesota's first interception of 2023 has become the first pending free agent to re-sign with the team for 2024.

Theo Jackson, an exclusive rights free agent, has re-signed with the Vikings, the team announced Wednesday.

Jackson first joined Minnesota in 2022 before the Vikings Week 6 game at Miami. He played primarily on special teams that season (275 snaps, compared to 18 on defense) and returned in 2023 for a role that included more opportunities under Defensive Coordinator Brian Flores in 2023.

Jackson entered Minnesota's Week 2 game at Philadelphia when Josh Metellus left the game because of an injury. He played 21 snaps against the Eagles and picked off Jalen Hurts for his first career interception.

The native of Nashville, Tennessee, recorded 21 tackles, a pass defensed and a QB hit over the course of 126 defensive snaps.

After playing for Overton High School and at the University of Tennessee, Jackson was drafted by his hometown Titans with the 204th overall pick of the 2022 NFL Draft
