As we look forward to kicking off the 2021 football season, it is important to acknowledge the hardships of the past year, while also celebrating the return to a normal football landscape. In the face of unprecedented challenges, it was inspiring to see how Minnesotans united and came together as one. One of the great lessons of athletics is overcoming adversity. Our football community was a shining example, and the 2021 season will be a tribute to that perseverance.
As a way to commemorate how far we have come, the Minnesota State High School League, Minnesota Football Coaches Association, and Minnesota Vikings collaborated to create a helmet decal that will be worn by football players, at every level, throughout the state.
• Minnesota High School Football Players
- Decals will be worn for the duration of the 2021 season
• Minnesota Division I, II, III, & NJCAA College Football Players
- Decals will be worn at the discretion of each program
•Minnesota Vikings
- Decal will be worn on August 14th during the first preseason game vs. the Denver Broncos
We invite everyone to share photos and other content throughout the year by using the hashtag #OneTeamMN on all personal, team and school social media platforms. Posts using this hashtag will have to opportunity to be randomly surprised with a contribution to the football program of their respective school.
We may compete on the gridiron, but the football community is collectively ONE TEAM!
