Biography
David Blough, pronounced blau, signs to the Vikings practice squad after being waived by the Detroit Lions on Aug. 31, 2022. The fourth-year quarterback originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Cleveland Browns in May 2019, before being traded to the Lions in August of that year, where he spent the first three seasons of his career. The Carrollton, Texas, native has appeared in seven games, making five starts in his career, and has thrown for 1,033 yards and four touchdowns on 100-of-184 passing completions. As a rookie in 2019, Blough played and started in five games with the Lions, throwing for 984 yards and four touchdowns on 94-of-174 passing completions. Over four seasons at Purdue (2015-18), he threw for 9,734 yards, which ranks fourth all-time in Purdue history, and 69 passing touchdowns, which rank third. Blough tallied 13 games in his collegiate career with over 300 yards passing, trailing only Drew Brees with 16.
