Biography

• Hosted a day-long radiothon fundraiser on Vikings flagship station KFAN for COVID-19 relief in April 2020. The event raised more than $280,000 during a 6 a.m.-6:30 p.m. marathon featuring teammates and celebrity guests calling in to support the cause. 

• Represented Minnesota at the 2017 and 2018 Pro Bowl and earned 2nd-Team Associated Press All-Pro in 2017.

• In 2017-18, became the 1st Viking to record consecutive seasons of 1,000+ receiving yards since Randy Moss did so for 6 consecutive seasons (1998-2003). 

• Thielen's 113 receptions in 2018 marked the 3rd-highest total in franchise history. His 1,335 receiving yards marked the 4th-highest total in franchise history, both times trailing only his boyhood idols Cris Carter and Randy Moss.

• The 1st player in NFL history to record 8 consecutive games of 100+ receiving yards to start a season.

• 1 of 2 players in NFL history to record 8 consecutive games of 100+ receiving yards at any point in an NFL season (Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions in 2012).

OFF THE FIELD

• Married to college sweetheart, Caitlin, who played soccer at Minnesota State, Mankato, in May of 2015. The couple has 2 sons, Asher and Hudson, and a daughter, Cora.

• Together with Caitlin launched the Thielen Foundation in September of 2018, which aims to create programs that serve, educate and inspire individuals to reach their full potential.

• Joins C.J. Ham (Duluth), Ryan Connelly (Eden Prairie) and Shane Zylstra (New London-Spicer) as Minnesotans on the Vikings roster in 2021.

• Hosts youth football camps in the Twin Cities and his hometown of Detroit Lakes.

• Opened a gym, ETS Elite Thielen, during the 2016 offseason in Lakeville, Minnesota, just south of the Twin Cities and has expanded to locations around the state, including Mankato and Rochester. 

• Avid golfer, spends time golfing in Arizona and Florida and has taken part in Pro Am events regularly, including the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe. 

• Earned bachelor's degree in management from MSU.
