Jerrod Johnson

Assistant Quarterbacks


Johnson, who is in his third season coaching in the NFL, joins the Vikings as the assistant quarterbacks coach for his first season with the club in 2022. Johnson's first name is pronounced juh-ROD.

Prior to joining the Vikings, Johnson spent three seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. In 2019, he served in the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship role and spent 2020-21 as an offensive quality control coach. From 2015-18, Johnson served on the coaching staff at St. Thomas High School in Houston, Texas, where he was the assistant head coach/offensive coordinator for his final two seasons. Johnson, who played in the East-West Shrine Bowl in 2011, coached at the East-West Shrine Bowl in February of 2022.

In 2017, he participated in the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship with the San Francisco 49ers during training camp, where he crossed paths with Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, who was the 49ers director of football research and development.
