Adam Zimmer

Co-Defensive Coordinator / Linebackers Coach

Adam Zimmer begins his seventh season with the Vikings in 2020 and his first as a Co-Defensive Coordinator. Zimmer served as Minnesota's linebackers coach from 2014-19, helping lead the development of Pro Bowl linebackers Anthony Barr and Eric Kendricks. In Zimmer's six seasons with the Vikings, the defense ranks in the top of the NFL in third down conversion rate (2st, 36.1%), offensive points allowed (2nd, 181), opponent yards per game (3rd, 321.8) and sacks (3rd, 260).

In 2019, Kendricks was named AP First Team All-Pro and was named to his first career Pro Bowl after leading the team in tackles for the fifth straight season, tallying 110 total tackles (70 solo) this season. Kendricks recorded a career-high 12 passes defensed on the season, tied for the top mark among NFL linebackers in 2019, and also posted two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and four tackles for loss. Zimmer also aided in the growth of third-year undrafted linebacker Eric Wilson. The Cincinnati product emerged this season starting six games and recorded 57 total tackles (30 solo), 3.0 sacks and six tackles for loss, all career highs.
