Eden Prairie, MN (January 15, 2015) – The Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority (MSFA) have partnered with Sports & The Arts (SATA) to source and acquire art, graphics and photographs for the new stadium set to open in July 2016. Funded by the Vikings, the partnership seeks to create a one-of-a-kind, museum-quality art collection for the new stadium that incorporates artwork created by local artists and showcases Vikings history, Minnesota sports history, and other regional history.
Together with SATA, the Vikings and the MSFA are seeking a wide variety of Minneapolis-St. Paul and greater Minnesota-based artists excelling in various mediums. Local artists of all levels and experience who are interested in being considered for the new stadium collection may submit a short bio, sample images of artistic pieces indicating the style of their work and any other relevant information via PDF to firstname.lastname@example.org. PDF submissions should be no larger than 5MB and contain up to eight visual samples of past pieces created by each artists. Upon selection by a to-be-determined committee, artists will be commissioned for specific works commencing this summer.

"One of the primary goals throughout stadium construction and operation is to utilize Minnesota companies and Minnesota people, and this partnership with Sports and the Arts fits that theme," said Vikings Owner/President Mark Wilf. "This is an opportunity for Minnesotans and Vikings fans to further impact the design of this stadium with artwork that recognizes the history of the Vikings and celebrates the many attributes of this state and region. When fans see this art throughout the building, it will further emphasize that this stadium is for their benefit and enjoyment."
"This partnership provides another avenue to unify Minnesotans with the stadium project," said MSFA Chair Michele Kelm-Helgen. "No one knows better what it is about Minnesota we should acknowledge with these pieces of art than the individuals living in this state. We look forward to seeing their creativity."
