Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer
Okay, we're excited to have the opportunity to go to San Francisco and play in the second round of the playoffs. They're an excellent football team, well coached, terrific on both sides of the ball, good on special teams. We're going to have to go out and play really well to win.
Q: Do you think what happened to Adam Thielen in practice yesterday will limit him in the game?
A: I don't know. He's questionable.
Q: What exactly happened?
A: I don't know. We don't talk about things that happened in practice.
Q: Do you feel like there's anything to the whole experience factor in this game?
A: I can't speak for their team. I do feel like us being in the NFC Championship game two years ago, we can draw on some things through that course of that process that we had. One thing is the number of media that's going to be out on the field before the game. As these games continue getting bigger, the distractions become bigger. I think we can draw on that. It's still going out and playing good football.
Q: With Adam Thielen, was it just sort of a fluke where somebody steps on him, kind of a weird situation?
A: I don't know.
Q: From a defensive standpoint, what kind of challenges does the fact that they're so balanced on offense present?
A: That always presents a challenge. They do so many good things offensively, the formations and the rockets and the motions and the shifts and then the execution and they have good players. All that enters into a factor. They come up with a different scheme for each team. I'm sure there will be a lot of adjustments being made during the course of the ballgame.
