The Vikings had a very eventful Thursday evening with two picks in the first round and a trade with the San Francisco 49ers to kick off the 2020 NFL Draft.
Minnesota selected LSU WR Justin Jefferson with the 22nd overall pick and took TCU CB Jeff Gladney with the 31st overall pick after trading back from the 25th overall pick with the San Francisco 49ers.
Let's check out some of the top tweets from the Vikings big night:
Gladney is a great pick for the Vikings. He has a ton of experience in the slot as a nickel defender. That's a huge benefit for Minnesota, who can decide to keep Mike Hughes outside and Holton Hill opposite him.— Courtney Cronin (@CourtneyRCronin) April 24, 2020
To summarize the Vikings' night: They addressed their two biggest areas of needs with two players who could start Week 1. And they added fourth- and fifth-round picks in the process.— Chad Graff (@ChadGraff) April 24, 2020
Man Spielman read the board really well. Not many guys went ahead of the Vikings that you would think they would have been interested in selecting. Here they are at 31 with options galore— Jon Krawczynski (@JonKrawczynski) April 24, 2020
